The Junior High students participated in their "Student Vote" today for the upcoming referendum. Students were able to experience the process of casting a ballot (or 10), and many students learned that practicing their civic duty comes with a lot of waiting in line. Thank you to our Diversity Students for running the vote by setting up stations, checking IDs, and counting all of the ballots!

A reminder to all Aspen View families that there is no school for students on Monday, October 19, as it is a school-based Professional Learning Day.

As this date was added to the school calendar through an amendment approved in June 2026, we want to ensure families are aware of the change.

Classes resume for students on Tuesday, October 20.

The Board of Trustees of Aspen View Public Schools held its regular meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Vilna School. Highlights include:

Mme McGuigan’s Science 7 class had the exciting opportunity to connect virtually with her aunt and uncle, who own and operate a worm castings farm in Nova Scotia!
During the video call, students learned about the important role worms play in maintaining healthy ecosystems, how a worm farm operates, and the environmental benefits of using worm castings as a natural fertilizer.
This was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning to a real-world example of sustainability and environmental stewardship. A big thank you to our special guests for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with us!

Several Aspen View schools have been impacted by power outages occurring throughout the region. Students are being kept safe, and school buses will depart their schools at their regularly scheduled times.

Contacting schools may not be possible, as their phone systems may be out due to the power outage.
