A good portion of fires we respond to have been caused by bathroom fans! Please make sure you’re checking them, cleaning them, and only leaving them on when needed.

Crews had a busy night / morning. Starting with weekly training at 5 that turned into a medical call shortly after training ended, followed by two structure fires in town. Thank you to all our volunteers and their families and employers for supporting them.

Crews were out training on Ladder 9-1, Tender 9-5 and Pump 9-2. Crews focused on water shuttle, hydrant operations, and pump operations including drafting tonight. Great job team!

Ladder 9-1 is back from getting certified and is officially in service. This is the first ladder truck the Town of Athabasca Fire Department has had. We would like to thank everyone who made this happen.

A firefighter is a person who holds a compassion for their job, a love of their department and a Brotherhood of over a million strong, extending world-wide, with other men and women alike.
They are people who you can count on, anytime day or night.
They are people who take pride in what they do… it’s all they know, it’s who they are.
They don’t consider themselves heroes... and are happy to protect and serve.
They are the electricians, carpenters, business professionals, pipe-fitters, mechanics, butchers, teachers, welders… they come from practically all walks of life.
So the next time you see a firefighter…. Please stop and thank them for what they do.
Whether they are paid or volunteer they didn't have to take this job....
