Summer Employment!

The Town of Balgonie and Balgonie Swimming Pool are looking to hire Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for the upcoming 2022 summer season.

Balgonie is 15 minutes from the east end of Regina on highway #1. The Balgonie Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool which is a great place to spend the summer.

Qualifications needed: Standard First Aid/CPR-C and National Lifesaving Society Lifeguard/Red Cross Lifeguard (or Bronze Cross/Red Cross Assistant Lifeguard for a Junior Lifeguard position)

Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Saskatchewan Pool Operators Course would be a definate asset.

Wage is based on qualifications.

BSP Patrons..

We have been developing a reopening plan for Balgonie pool for some time. We will be opening June 12th at 1pm.

Our hours in June will be 3:30-5:30 and 6:00-8:00 on weekdays, and 1:00-3:00, 3:30-5:30, and 6:00-8:00 on weekends.

Our capacity will be 25 people to accommodate physical distancing at all times as required by the Government of Saskatchewan Recreation Guidelines. To ensure everyone can access the pool, you and your group will be able to swim for 2 hours. If the pool is at capacity and there are people wishing to access the pool after your 2 hours are up you and your group will be asked to leave to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the pool.

It should be noted that the current provincial guidelines require participants to remain 2m away from anyone outside their household at all times.

Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by someone 14 or older. This decision was made in response to the outdoor pool reopening guidelines which call for children to accompanied by an adult at outdoor aquatic facilities at all times.

Everyone over the age of 2 must wear a mask indoors and when talking with the lifeguards. Therefore everyone must bring a mask to the pool to wear as they walk through the change room and sign in with the lifeguards. Failure to adhere to the provincial mask mandate will result in you and your group being asked to leave.

Once you and your group are done signing in with the lifeguards you may remove your mask.

Please respect that a significant amount of time and thought was required when making these decisions. Our hope is that this plan will allow patrons to enjoy their time at the pool in a way that is safe.
