The Barrie Chamber of Commerce was incorporated under the federal Board of Trade Act on June 10, 1926. The Chamber has been serving the local business community for more than 90 years. The Chamber examines community needs to determine what must be done to make it a better place to live and d

o business. It channels community resources to the fulfillment of these needs. It organizes and develops the necessary leadership to guarantee an effective force for progress and improvement. The Barrie Chamber recently embarked on an ambitious path to reposition itself and connect in new ways with members, strategic partners and the broader Barrie community. In doing so, the Barrie Chamber of Commerce will be acknowledged as THE GATEWAY to local business success. Mission Statement:

Our Auxiliary is currently working on raising $2.5 million for a third MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) which will greatly improve the lives of our patients. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have now completed our pledge to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

Poker Ride is Back! ♦️♠️ 🚲 ♥️ ♣️
On Saturday, June 20, Barrie is doing a bike poker ride and Firebird is one of the two charities it supports. Here's how it works: grab a team of four (or bring the family), ride around at your own pace, collect playing cards from local businesses, and see who ends the day with the best hand. Prizes for the winners, after-party at Tiff's Bar and Restaurant starting at 3:00 PM. It's $40 per team. All proceeds go to Living Green Barrie and Firebird Community Cycle.

Licence 2 Ride is available to Barrie youth ages 12–17 and provides free, unlimited access to Barrie Transit and select drop-in recreation activities throughout the summer. The 2026 program runs from July 1 to September 7, 2026. The program is designed to help youth build independence, become familiar with the transit system, and enjoy a fun, active summer while exploring all that Barrie has to offer.

With a Licence 2 Ride pass, youth can enjoy:
- Free rides on all Barrie Transit routes, including Transit ON Demand and Specialized Transit (for registered users)
- Access to select drop-in recreation programs such as public swimming, skating, gymnasium use, and youth centre activities
- Opportunities to visit community spaces including recreation centres, parks, beaches, the waterfront, and more
- Access to fitness centres (for participants aged 13+ with orientation)
