Thank you to CTV Barrie for capturing yesterday’s cheque presentation at Tangle Creek and helping shine a light on the community support behind the Iron Chef event.

Today we celebrated
7 years of Lucy’s Place. 🎉🎉

Lucy’s Place is a supportive housing community that provides residents with housing, connection, and 24/7 support through the Busby Centre.

To mark this milestone, staff and residents came together for a spring clean up and BBQ, celebrating not just the building, but the community that has grown within it.

Lucy’s Place is a powerful example of what can happen when housing, support, compassion, and community come together.

Thank you to our staff, residents, partners, and everyone who continues to be part of this important work as we keep navigating the shortest path from homelessness to housing.

Join us on May 24 at noon at the Busby Centre for the Seven Nation Brotherhood Barrie Community BBQ.

Community members are invited to stop by for a hot lunch, refreshments, clothing and personal care items, while supplies last.

We are grateful to Seven Nation Brotherhood for bringing people together in the spirit of community, compassion and care.

From January to March 2026, the Busby Centre was part of the support network that helped 16 people in Barrie and 14 people in South Georgian Bay return to housing.

Behind every number is a person, a story, and a path forward.
