Township of Essa – In Remembrance of CFB Wainwright
The Township of Essa joins communities across Canada in mourning the tragic loss of four Canadian Armed Forces members following the devastating fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta.
On behalf of Council and staff, we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of Sergeant Morgan Wong, Private Shaun Farrell, Private Aidan Goulding, and Private Hayden Lykkemark. Our thoughts are also with the injured members, their families, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
In honour of the fallen service members, the Township of Essa will lower its flags to half-mast as a mark of respect and remembrance.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders, medical personnel, and all those who continue to support the injured and their families during this incredibly difficult time.
Today, we stand in solidarity with the Canadian Armed Forces and the community of Wainwright. We remember those who lost their lives in service to our country and extend our heartfelt support to all those grieving this profound loss.
