The Downtown Barrie BIA is excited to announce the Super Simple Summer Sing-Along with Caitie & Tobee as part of the 2026 Troubadour Festival lineup, taking place at Meridian Place in Downtown Barrie on Saturday, June 6 at 12:00 PM as part of the new Troubadour Treehouse family programming on the Troubadour Street Stage.

Known and loved by families around the world, Caitie & Tobee will bring an energetic and interactive live performance to Barrie’s waterfront, featuring fan-favourite songs including My Happy Song, Here Comes The Fire Truck, and Skidamarink.

The free Troubadour Treehouse performance invites families, young fans, and visitors of all ages to sing, dance, and celebrate together as Troubadour Festival continues to expand its all-ages programming and live entertainment experiences in Downtown Barrie.

The Jammers Waffle House -

Two weeks to go until the Troubadour Festival kicks off on Saturday, June 6th!

Featuring Headliners at 8:30pm:
The Road Hammers: The Road Hammers are Canada’s premier country rock band, debuting at #1 on the Canadian sales charts and quickly building a reputation for their electrifying live performances.

Supporting Openers at 7:30pm:
Drawing its sound from 50’s and 60’s rockabilly licks, old country twang, and Motown swing, Sam Polley and The Old Tomorrows blends genres to create an upbeat boogie and groovy hooks, that’s sure to make anyone listening get up and dance.

The Troubadour Festival Local Opener Showcase is back at 5:00pm:
Each festival date will kick off with the Local Opener Showcase, featuring three selected performers — solo artists, duos, or bands — chosen through an independent jury process.

The Troubadour Street Stage:
Starting at noon, it will feature emerging performers and interactive entertainment throughout the day

Troubadour Festival 2026 Expands Experience with New Opening Acts and Full-Day Programming

The Downtown Barrie BIA is turning up the volume on summer with exciting new updates to the Troubadour Festival 2026, announcing a dynamic lineup of supporting opening acts and the introduction of an all-new full-day festival experience in the heart of Downtown Barrie.

Building on its recognition as one of Ontario’s fastest-growing music events, Troubadour Festival continues to evolve — bringing even more music, energy, and immersive experiences to Meridian Place and the surrounding downtown core.

Opening Acts Announced:
Each festival date will feature a standout Canadian act taking the stage at 7:30 PM, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of live music before the headliner.

Celebrate summer with free Kim Mitchell concert at Open Air Dunlop - Butter Tart Festival - July 11th

Multi-platinum, JUNO Award-winning Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell will perform a free concert at Meridian Place on July 11. Residents and visitors are encouraged to make a full day of it downtown, starting with the Downtown Barrie Butter Tart Festival and ending with a free evening concert at Meridian Place.

“Barrie’s waterfront is the perfect place for our community to come together and enjoy great live music,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall. “We’re excited to welcome Canadian rock legend Kim Mitchell for a memorable summer concert in the heart of downtown Barrie. Events like this bring energy to our downtown, support local businesses, and create opportunities for residents and visitors alike to connect and make lasting summer memories in our beautiful city.”

Spring has officially sprung! As the greenery grows and the flowers in our beautiful public planters begin to bloom, the time to replace our wilted public piano has come.

This spring we are doing things a little bit differently. In conjunction with Outpacer Design, visual artists who work in the digital realm are invited to participate in our open call for local artists.

Visit our latest blog post (link in bio) and fill out the form to be considered. The provided website or social media portfolio page will be reviewed and the selected artist will be contacted and commissioned for the job.

An Adobe Illustrator .ai file will be provided as the canvas.

Once completed the new Public Piano will be unveiled during Open Air Dunlop - Canada Day on July 1st.

Submissions are open now and will remain open until Sunday, May 24th. Applicants must reside within the City of Barrie.
