The competition heats up tonight as fishers put their skills to the test in the Great Lobsterman Challenge, one of the signature events of this year's Lobster Festival.

Past champions, returning competitors, and first-time challengers will go head-to-head in a series of events inspired by the skills used every day on the water. With a five-time champion, a two-time champion, the reigning champion, and other great competitors all competing for the title, it's anyone's guess who will come out on top.

Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena
Doors Open: 5:30 PM
Competition Begins: 6:30 PM

The Great Lobsterman Challenge is just one of many events happening throughout Lobster Festival. From markets and workshops to live entertainment, family activities, the Beat the Tide Tinkers Run, Lucy's Trivia Trail, the Lobster Capital Quest, and more, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Come out, cheer on the competitors, and help us celebrate the industry, people, and traditions that have earned the Municipality of Barrington its title as the Lobster Capital of Canada.

This week, we recognize and celebrate the incredible work of VON staff and volunteers who help people live safely and independently at home and within their communities.

The 2026 VON Week theme, “Powered by Compassion,” reflects the dedication, care, and commitment shown every day by those who support individuals and families across our region.

For generations, VON has been there for communities, yesterday, today, and tomorrow, providing compassionate care when it’s needed most.

To all VON staff, nurses, volunteers, and caregivers: thank you for the important difference you make in the lives of so many. To mark the week, we’ll be lighting our Municipal building blue in their honour.
