🌲 Ever wondered…Why is that a rule?🤔
From campsite capacity limits to firewood restrictions, many Ontario Parks rules aren’t just about enforcement, they’re about protecting the places we love!

✅ Limiting campers helps prevent wear and tear on natural spaces.
🔥 Not moving firewood helps stop the spread of invasive species.
🦝 Properly disposing of dishwater reduces wildlife encounters.

Every rule has a purpose rooted in science, conservation, and visitor safety, so we can all keep enjoying these incredible landscapes for generations to come 💚

👉 Learn more about the “why” behind the rules:

🌾 Protect What Protects Our Shoreline 🌾

You may notice signs along the beach trails at Pancake Bay. These help protect fragile Marram grass, the plant that holds our dunes together and prevents erosion!

🌿 Healthy dunes depend on healthy vegetation. Without it, the sand becomes unstable and our beautiful beaches are more vulnerable to erosion.

👟 Although Marram grass is tough enough to survive wind, waves, and shifting sand, it is very sensitive to foot traffic.

➡️ Please stay on marked paths and respect posted areas.

By doing so, you’re helping to protect this unique landscape for generations to come!💚
