Please be advised that the Town Office will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13.

This Fire Prevention Week, we’re reminded that fire safety starts with all of us. Taking simple steps: checking smoke alarms, creating a home escape plan, and knowing how to prevent fires; can make a life-saving difference.

A heartfelt thank you to the members of the Witless Bay Volunteer Fire Department for your dedication, courage, and countless hours spent protecting and serving our communities.

The Bay Bulls Regional Lifestyle Centre presents the Irish Loop Cod Fish Battles happening ALL MONTH LONG!

Many will battle… but only ONE will win!

Visit our local Irish Loop restaurants and try their delicious cod creations. Sample them all, then cast your vote at the end of the month to help crown the ultimate Cod Champion!

📚 Free Study Café Coming Soon! ☕️

We’re pleased to announce that the Town will be opening a free study café for students at the Tourist Information Centre, located at the rear of the Town Hall.

The study space will be available during the tourism off-season, from October through early June, providing students with a quiet, convenient place to study, work, and get assignments done.

A special thank you to youth in our community who took the initiative to put together a proposal for Council on this idea. What a great idea and a wonderful example of youth bringing forward positive initiatives for our community! 👏

🗓️ Opening date: Coming soon!

We’re currently waiting for a new locking system and online booking options to be set up. Once everything is ready, we’ll share more details about the official opening date, hours, and how to book the space.

We look forward to providing this free resource for our student community!

Town Office Closure

The Town Office will be closed Wednesday, September 30, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

September 30 is an opportunity to honour Residential School Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the ongoing journey toward truth, healing and reconciliation.

We encourage everyone to take time to listen, learn and reflect. Some helpful resources include:
