Update June 1, 2026: The first advisory has been lifted, as conditions have improved.

The City of Beaumont has issued a fire advisory effective May 6, 2026, at 4 pm. This precautionary measure is being taken due to warm, dry conditions.

✅ What's still allowed:
• Campground and backyard fires in approved, contained fire pits with a valid fire permit
• Gas and propane appliances (barbecues, portable firepits, heaters, stoves, etc.)

⚠️ Please use caution with all firepits and gas/propane appliances during the advisory. Call 9-1-1 immediately if you spot a fire.

📋 Note: New fire permits may be restricted while the advisory is in effect. Existing permits remain valid until they expire or until the advisory is upgraded.

Stay safe and look out for one another!

Reminder: Fire advisory in effect for the City of Beaumont 🔥

While the weekend forecast is bringing some cooler temperatures, conditions on the ground are still very dry, meaning the risk of fire remains high.

Beaumont Fire Services continues to monitor the situation, but keeping our community safe is a team effort. Let’s be proactive and look out for one another by practicing extra caution.

How residents can help this weekend:
⚠️Play it safe: Exercise extreme caution if you are having a recreational backyard fire.
🍔Watch the gear: Never leave gas or propane portable appliances unattended when they are being used.
🧯Put out your fires: Ensure all fires are completely extinguished before walking away.

🚙 Planning a weekend getaway or camping trip? Conditions change fast. Before you pack up and hit the road, visit albertafirebans.ca to check for active advisories, restrictions, and bans across the province.

We're at that point in the year where we can't tell if it's our third spring or ninth winter. But whatever season it is today, our crews are ready! While you’re debating whether to put away the parka or grabbing your shovel for the 75th time this weekend, Beaumont Fire Services (BFS) will be out on the ice training for something that can happen year-round: ice and water rescues.

📍 Where: Coloniale Estates
🗓️ When: Saturday, March 14
⚠️ Note: This is PLANNED TRAINING. If you see us in the water, don't worry and DO NOT call 9-1-1!

Our BFS team members are certified Ice Rescue Specialists through Dive Rescue International. We brave the cold so we’re always ready to jump into action for any person (or pup! 🐾) who needs us.

🛑A friendly neighbourhood reminder:
Stormwater ponds are never safe for any sort of recreation on the ice or in the water. With the spring freeze-thaw cycle, that ice is thinner than it looks and there’s always water moving underneath.

If you're out and about this weekend, wave to crews from a distance, stay off the ponds, and stay safe, Beaumont! 💙💛💚🧡

📣Big news for improved firefighter safety in Beaumont!

With support from Enbridge's Fueling Futures grant, Beaumont Fire Services received $10,000 to upgrade our outdated gas monitors and purchase new gas detection badges. These vital tools help BFS members detect hazardous gases during incidents—alerting firefighters before exposure reaches dangerous levels.

We’re proud to put safety first and thankful for partners like Enbridge who make it possible!
