The federal government’s decision to extend its fi****ms amnesty once again is an admission that its firearm confiscation scheme is ineffective and deeply flawed.

Ottawa should make the amnesty permanent and abandon its plan to confiscate legally acquired fi****ms from law-abiding Canadians. Gun confiscation programs will never stop gang violence, cross-border gun smuggling, and the criminal misuse of fi****ms. We will continue to use every lawful tool at our disposal to shield Albertans from any form of fi****ms confiscation.

Alberta believes in a principled, evidence-based approach to fi****ms policy that targets violent criminals and illegal guns, not responsible fi****ms owners who follow the law.

(And yes. That is a picture of me s***t shooting with friends.)

For months, Council has been listening to what matters most across Beaumont, and the result is almost here.

Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak sums it up in a single line: "This plan is built around your voice." The Council Strategic Plan is shaped by residents for the community's next four years, and the full picture is just around the corner.

Stay connected to be among the first to see it, because as the Mayor says, "together, let's build a safe, strong, and prosperous Beaumont."

Big news for our aviation sector!

De Havilland Canada broke ground on a major aircraft manufacturing hub in Wheatland County called De Havilland Field, marking the largest private investment for aviation in Alberta’s history.

This is another major step forward in this government's efforts to make Alberta an aviation and aerospace hub and shows that Alberta is the best place in the country to build and invest.
