Brokenhead River Regional Library The Brokenhead River Regional Library strives to inspire lifelong learning and advance knowledge. Vera McLean.

The Brokenhead River Regional Libarary was founded November 21, 1981 and it is administered by a local volunteer board and a trained staff. There are many more attributes the library has beyond just books. Available are talking books, magazines, videos, large print books, reference materials both in print and on CD’s, as well as interlibrary loan services. Our library has become home to 300 Teddy Bears and accessories due to the generous donation of a local patron Mrs. We offer programs such as Story Time, Summer Reading, Nursery School and Daycare visits, Library tours and author visits are just a few of the ongoing activities at the Brokenhead River Regional Library. Library service is available free to residents or property owners of the R.M. of Brokenhead, the Town of Beausejour and any students of the Edward Schreyer School, Beausejour Early Years School, Happy Time Nursery School, or Gillis School. A non-residential fee of $25.00 per family is to be paid annually by anyone that does not fit the above criteria. This fee is to be paid in cash and a receipt should be issued to the patron for this amount.

Important update! Due to circumstances beyond our control, the library will be CLOSED TOMORROW Friday October 2nd. There will be construction on the sewer lining, meaning no parking on our street and no access to toilets. Any items that are due on October 2nd will have the fines waived. We apologize for the short notice, but we only found out this morning ourselves. The plan is to be open our normal hours on Saturday 10am-2pm, but will update here if we cannot open. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

We are fortunate to have The Big Beausejour Book Sale who covers the cost for this amazing program. Come into the library and sign up your children from age 0 to 4 today for them to receive a book every month mailed to their home! Today is Give Like Dolly Day! ❤️

Dolly believed that when you’re in a position to help, you should help. She gave generously, dreamed big for children and spent her life finding ways to make a difference in the lives of others.

Today, we’re carrying that spirit forward.

📚 We invite you to by supporting children in your own community. Find your local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program and discover how you can help put books into the homes of children where you live.

🫶 Help bring books to your community: If the Imagination Library isn’t available where you live, learn how you can help bring a local program to your community. Visit imaginationlibrary.com and select your country from the main menu to explore how to get started.

Every community has an opportunity to give a little love, lend a hand and help a child dream a little bigger.

Our first BRRL Library Connections of the 2026-27 season was a success! Attendees got to see all of the amazing secret postcards and make one of their own. We are grateful to IERHA and their Healthy Together Now grant that funded this special project. Thanks as well to Laurie McLean for facilitating it. Pennyweight Market brought an amazing array of snacks, drinks and treats for the night. As always, we appreciate the support (both physical and financial) from Melanie Pelletier and The Big Beausejour Book Sale who help make this program a reality. And we couldn't do this without our amazing volunteers- Duane and Deb Versluis, Melanie Pelletier, Grace Myers, and Annabel Pelletier. Next month's Library Connections will take place on October 16th and will feature artists Melanie Bird and Wayne James- pencil it in on your calendars now!
