During the volunteer BBQ, Edgar and Lenore enjoyed some special enrichment. Edgar did all the working tearing off the pieces of wieners and and burying them, and Lenore dug them up and ate them. Team work. 🙂

What it’s all about… RELEASE!

This is what it’s all for. The early mornings and the late nights. The sweat, the tears and all the p**p. 💩

95% of our spring babies have now been released. Good luck babies! We will miss you.

Thank you to our release team for all their work the last few months to get all these animals where they needed to go. We couldn’t do this without you. And yes there were lots of squirrels… but they never want to leave the nest box for videos 🤣

Wishing our supporters a happy international raccoon appreciation day to all who celebrate! 🖤

Another baby season has passed and some of our volunteers celebrated with a well deserved BBQ. We receive massive amounts of applications each season and yet we never have enough volunteers and can always use more. Thank you to all the 2026 volunteers that made it possible for hundreds of babies to be released back to the wild.

Public Service Announcement! 📣

Please take care of your recycling and garbage to make it safe for wildlife. These types of ice coffee lids are constantly getting stuck on poor skunks looking for a meal in the recycling bin.

Thankfully this skunk had not had the lid on for long enough that it had embedded into his skin. We were able to cut it off and he won’t need extensive medical treatment. Not all animals are so lucky.

Please think of wildlife when disposing your garbage.
▪️cut these types of lids in half
▪️clean all containers throughly
▪️cut up mesh that houses onions
▪️put lids on jars before recycling
▪️put lids of cans inside can and fold down

These small actions can make a difference to our wildlife.

Thank you to Simcoe County Emergency Animal Response for their work to catch him and bring him in!

Almost time for them to be released and live the life they were meant to live. Thanks Jen.
