Mental health is something we all have, and connection can make a meaningful difference.

Volunteering is one way we can build that connection. Whether it’s lending a hand at a local organization, checking in on a neighbour, supporting a community event, or simply showing up for others, small acts of service can help us feel connected, valued, and part of something bigger.

When we volunteer, we don’t just support our communities, we create opportunities to meet people, build relationships, share our strengths, and remind one another that we don’t have to navigate life alone.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s look for ways to connect, contribute, and care for ourselves, for each other, and for the communities we call home.

Your time, your kindness, and your presence can make a difference.

September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It’s a time to remember the children who never returned home and to honour Survivors and their families.

Reconciliation is rooted in the courage to listen, the humility to acknowledge past and ongoing harms, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the truth while confronting denialism in all forms.

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day, committing to the essential, ongoing work of truth-telling and meaningful reconciliation.
