Trailblazing women! Constable Lynda Salisbury, Constable Elizabeth Comeau and Constable Daryl Wagar, seen here in the 1980s, were some of the first female police officers to serve with the Belleville Police. The intial uniform included a skirt and heels in the spring, summer and fall and boots and ski pants in the winter months. Constable Salisbury's original jacket can be seen as part of the exhibit commemorating 190 years of the Belleville Police Service, on display now at Glanmore National Historic Site, 257 Bridge Street East, Belleville.
