The past couple of weeks have been exciting! We just completed a 10,000+ board‑foot timber order for a customer building log homes. We also recently added two new pieces of equipment to the shop - a two‑sided planer and a gang ripsaw - which will help us increase efficiency when producing our custom mouldings.

An invaluable Machine at our Sawmill is our Debarker, it cleans the bark dirt and grime off the logs before running onto the sawmill. This process increases the performance of our saw blades allowing them to cut a larger amount of lumber before needing to be re-sharpened again. Debarking also offers an opportunity to see the quality of the logs allowing to see sweep or any bad spots on the log before cutting.

We have had a busy couple of weeks preparing White Pine Timbers for a Timber Frame. There are over 170 Timbers on this load of various sizes up to 8 x 12 x 24 feet long. This load took over two weeks to prepare and sort for transport. We specifically ordered logs of proper lengths for this order to cut down on excess waste. Now on to the next timber order…
