Village of Berwyn Municipality Berwyn is nestled within the Peace River Region of northwestern Alberta. Situtated on Highway # 2, the Village of Berwyn is only 37 km.

from the Town of Peace River. Berwyn is a quiet community with a population of 561 (2006 census). It is a picturesque community that attracts young and old. Because of the long summer days and good soil, the rural community has been able to maintain a steady population.

We're pleased to introduce Ethan Chupka, who joined the Village of Berwyn team as our Summer Student on May 27th.

Ethan recently completed his Computer Science degree at Northwestern Polytechnic and is currently halfway through his Education degree. Upon graduation, he hopes to teach in the Peace Region.

Ethan shared that he has enjoyed working in Berwyn's quiet and safe environment and has found the Village staff and residents to be friendly, helpful, and supportive. Ethan looks forward to contributing to the community throughout the summer.

The Village of Berwyn is reviewing options for the operation of the Berwyn Campground for the upcoming season. Council is seeking input from residents to help guide decisions around how the campground is operated and managed. Please provide your input at the link below before June 10, 2026. Come on out for the Berwyn Bike Rodeo next Tuesday, June 16 from 5-6 p.m in front of the Berwyn Tiger Taekwondo building. This is a great opportunity to learn about bicycle, helmet and road safety!

Note that the RCMP Detachment in Grimshaw is open on June 17th from 8 am - 4 pm.

The Grimshaw Detachment will be open June 17, with the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Moving forward it will be open the first and third Wednesday of each month and will be open until 4:00pm now.
