Significant winds are expected over the next two days. We are already at extreme risk for wildfire with the current dry conditions. These winds add a serious threat to the situation. If you have had a controlled burn of any kind in the last few weeks, please ensure it is fully extinguished to eliminate the chances of it flaring up.

Controlled burn information in the link below. All controlled burns must be called in. Be sure to plan ahead and have appropriate controls in place (fire guards, water source etc). Look at the forecast for the following days. Strong winds are forecast for today. Make sure your old burn is fully extinguished.

Controlled Burns and Notifications When you need to burn grass, bush piles or stubble, be sure you are well prepared and that you have fire guards in place. Emergency alert test has been postponed!

⚠️ SaskAlert Testing Update

The SaskAlert test that was scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed as a result of ongoing active incidents.

At this time, our priority is supporting those affected by ongoing emergencies and evacuations. Real SaskAlert notifications will still be issued if required.

The SPSA will notify the public when a new test date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding.

BFD has been dispatched to a two vehicle mvc on highway 11 South of Findlater.

BFD has been dispatched as mutual aid for Craik Fire Dpt. to a grass fire in their response area.

April 17th @1143 BFD was dispatched to a two vehicle mvc on highway 11 west of Findlater at the junction of HWY11 & HWY2. Mutual aid was requested to Craik and District Volunteer Fire Department as we did not have enough members to respond.
