Here is some behind the scenes footage from our training day with the SPSA ERT crew. It was great to have them out to get some hands-on experience working with Gel in a low-stakes environment like a training session.

In this demonstration, Gel Systems Canada shows how precise mixing is one of the most important aspects of deploying FG-2 Ready-to-Use gel. Thicker gel mixes are best for pre-treatment, while thinner gel mixes are used for direct attacks. RTU gel is extremely effective compared to water alone and is proven to be safe for humans, equipment, wildlife, and the environment.

Gel Systems Canada attended the local 4H sale in Prince Albert. We were we pleased to be able to purchase “Stuart”, a steer raised by Kohen Kristiansen of the Wild Rose Club. Kohen’s family farm was threatened during the Lobstick fire south of Shellbrook where we were assigned to work during that incident. Wildfires can have a severe impact in the agricultural sector and dramatically change people’s livelihood. We are committed to mitigating that impact as much as possible. The support the community extended to us while we were working there was overwhelming. Thanks again, Shellbrook, for all you did for us- it’s nice to see a young family looking to agriculture as a livelihood. Sounds like next year there will be 2 more 4H-ers from the Kristiansen’s participating, but today they were focused on just being kids!

Gel Systems Canada would like to send a special thank you to the Shellbrook Kinette Club. They have provided our staff with great lunches and meals while working at the Lobstick fire south of Shellbrook. Also thank you to the fellas that brought them out to the field. These guys are making sure everyone has food and drinks in their stomach. Working hard at fires you expect to loose a little “winter weight” but when they bring out the fresh cinnamon buns it’s hard to say no. It always amazes us the community support you receive when they are faced with difficult times. People rally together to make sure the job gets done. It truly warms your heart.

Great aerial view of a bucketing operation.

Bucketing operations is a very important tactic in controlling wildfires. Having a mobile heliwell gives agencies move flexibility to get product closer to where it needs to be so it can greatly reduce turn around times for the helicopters. Reduced turn around times increases the efficiencies and means getting more product on the ground where it needs to be.

Gel Systems Canada has been assisting in efforts on the Lobstick Fire. Today was a busy day of building line. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates and blesses us with some rain.

Gel Systems Canada would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May 2026 bring health and happiness to all.
