It's ATV season!
Below are some of the general rules of the road for operating ATVs within Muskoday ⚖️

Before you can ride an ATV on public land, you must have a driver’s licence. If you don’t have a driver’s licence, you must be at least 12 years of age and:
-have completed an ATV training course; or
-be supervised by someone with a driver’s licence (on their own ATV); or
-be accompanied by someone with a driver’s licence (on the same ATV you’re driving).

No person shall drive a Snowmobile or ATV:
a) on any road or street within a residential, commercial, or otherwise populated area in excess of forty (40) kilometers per hour; or
b) on any other Muskoday Road or Access Road in excess of eighty (80) kilometers per hour or as otherwise posted.

-No Operator of a Snowmobile or ATV shall execute a Power Turn on any Public Road, Highway, Access Road, or Muskoday Road.
-No Operator shall cause a Snowmobile or ATV to make a U-turn at any intersection between two roads or streets.
-No Operator shall operate a Snowmobile or ATV without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration of other persons or property upon Muskoday Lands.
-No Operator, while operating a Snowmobile or ATV, shall permit more than one passenger to ride.

No Operator shall operate an ATV unless that person:
a) holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence;
b) is twelve (12) years of age or older but less than sixteen (16) years of age and is:
i. accompanied on the ATV by another person who holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence; or
ii. accompanied and supervised by another person who holds a class 1, 2, 3, 4

No person shall operate an ATV on any travelled portion of a Highway. (Highway as defined in the Sask TSA)
*“highway” means a road, parkway, driveway, square or place designed and intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles, but does not include any area, whether privately or publicly owned, that is primarily intended to be used for the parking of vehicles and the necessary passageways on that area;🛣️

Update:
Jordan STONESTAND was arrested by the Prince Albert Police Service last night.
Chance SMITH was arrested on February 26th by RCMP

Update:
On January 24th, 2026, around 6:30 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a stabbing at a residence on Muskoday First Nation.

RCMP officers responded immediately, along with EMS and STARS. Officers located two adult male victims with injuries consistent with stab wounds. EMS transported one of the victims to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The second victim was transported to the hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious. We do not have an update on their conditions.

Investigation determined four suspects wearing masks entered a residence on Muskoday FN. Two of the suspects assaulted the victims. All four suspects fled the scene in a vehicle that was later located by police with no occupants inside.

As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Jordan STONESTAND from Muskoday First Nation and 27-year-old Chance SMITH from Prince Albert are each charged with:

- Aggravated assault x2
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Disguise with Intent

Jordan STONECHILD is also charged with:

- Weapons/Firearms Possession Contrary to Order x2
- Pointing a Firearm

Chance SMITH is also charged with Fail to Comply with Release Order.

A warrant has been issued for STONESTAND and SMITH'S arrest. Prince Albert RCMP continue to work to locate them and ask the public to report sightings and information on their whereabouts.

Jordan STONESTAND is described as 6 ft 2 in, 165 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Chance SMITH is described as 6 ft 2 in, 152 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate, including determining the identity of the other two suspects.

If you see Jordan STONESTAND or Chance SMITH, do not approach them. Report all sightings on their whereabouts or information on this investigation to the Prince Albert RCMP or contact Crime Stoppers.
