Media Release
Muskoday Enforcement is aware of a video currently circulating on social media regarding an incident that occurred on August 25, 2026.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop involving a known individual. The individual failed to stop and fled into a nearby residence.
While officers were securing and containing the residence, a male confronted officers, resulting in an altercation.
The male was subsequently arrested and taken into RCMP custody.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Muskoday Enforcement is providing this information to clarify the circumstances surrounding the video currently circulating on social media. No further details will be released at this time.

RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory:

Court Summons Text Scam

The RCMP are warning residents of a scam that is currently circulating amongst residents within Saskatchewan. People are receiving text messages that appear to come from the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and are accusing them of committing some sort of traffic violation. The text includes the name of the police officer, the name of the judge, and the court case reference number. They also include a date that the person is supposed to attend court but does not provide the location of the court that the person is supposed to attend. The text includes a website that they are supposed to visit to deal with the court summons and traffic violation.

This is a scam, and DO NOT click the link that is provided in the text message. The police and courts will NEVER advise someone of charges in this method. Legitimate photo radar tickets are issued by Canada Post, and all other charges are hand-delivered by a police officer.

If anybody receives this text message......ignore it, delete and block the sender. You do not need to report it to the police, and please do not take any action.

❗️Please be aware that the bears were spotted in the village again this morning. Please refer back to our post below on how to stay safe.❗️

We have had an increase in sightings of bears and cubs within Muskoday Village, but let's not forget their crucial roles as apex predators and keystone species in our ecosystems.
With increased sightings of bears in the community. There are plenty of steps you can take to be bear aware and to promote coexistence:

🐻TO AVOID ATTRACTING BEARS:
-Never feed or approach a bear or bear cubs.
-Do not get closer for the sake of a photograph.
-Store garbage in a secure building or buy a bear-resistant container and only roll waste or recycle bins out the morning of collection.
-Avoid leaving pet food accessible to wildlife.
-Only use bird feeders in the winter when bears are hibernating.
-Properly clean and store barbecue grills after each use.

Black bears typically avoid people. However, when they are feeding or searching for food, they may not be as aware of their surroundings and can be startled. It's important to practice good bear safety in case of an encounter. Keep aware of your surroundings, hike in groups, and be loud.

🐻IF YOU ENCOUNTER A BEAR:
-Stay calm – don't run!
-Make a wide detour, calmly back away, speak in low tones, and don't look directly at the bear.
-Never feed or approach a bear or cubs.
-Move towards a tree or rock.
-As a last resort, drop articles of clothing, such as a jacket or hat, to distract the bear.

In most cases, black bears will threaten but not attack. If attacked, defend yourself. DO NOT PLAY DEAD.

It's ATV season!
Below are some of the general rules of the road for operating ATVs within Muskoday ⚖️

Before you can ride an ATV on public land, you must have a driver’s licence. If you don’t have a driver’s licence, you must be at least 12 years of age and:
-have completed an ATV training course; or
-be supervised by someone with a driver’s licence (on their own ATV); or
-be accompanied by someone with a driver’s licence (on the same ATV you’re driving).

No person shall drive a Snowmobile or ATV:
a) on any road or street within a residential, commercial, or otherwise populated area in excess of forty (40) kilometers per hour; or
b) on any other Muskoday Road or Access Road in excess of eighty (80) kilometers per hour or as otherwise posted.

-No Operator of a Snowmobile or ATV shall execute a Power Turn on any Public Road, Highway, Access Road, or Muskoday Road.
-No Operator shall cause a Snowmobile or ATV to make a U-turn at any intersection between two roads or streets.
-No Operator shall operate a Snowmobile or ATV without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration of other persons or property upon Muskoday Lands.
-No Operator, while operating a Snowmobile or ATV, shall permit more than one passenger to ride.

No Operator shall operate an ATV unless that person:
a) holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence;
b) is twelve (12) years of age or older but less than sixteen (16) years of age and is:
i. accompanied on the ATV by another person who holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence; or
ii. accompanied and supervised by another person who holds a class 1, 2, 3, 4

No person shall operate an ATV on any travelled portion of a Highway. (Highway as defined in the Sask TSA)
*“highway” means a road, parkway, driveway, square or place designed and intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles, but does not include any area, whether privately or publicly owned, that is primarily intended to be used for the parking of vehicles and the necessary passageways on that area;🛣️
