It's ATV season!
Below are some of the general rules of the road for operating ATVs within Muskoday ⚖️
Before you can ride an ATV on public land, you must have a driver’s licence. If you don’t have a driver’s licence, you must be at least 12 years of age and:
-have completed an ATV training course; or
-be supervised by someone with a driver’s licence (on their own ATV); or
-be accompanied by someone with a driver’s licence (on the same ATV you’re driving).
No person shall drive a Snowmobile or ATV:
a) on any road or street within a residential, commercial, or otherwise populated area in excess of forty (40) kilometers per hour; or
b) on any other Muskoday Road or Access Road in excess of eighty (80) kilometers per hour or as otherwise posted.
-No Operator of a Snowmobile or ATV shall execute a Power Turn on any Public Road, Highway, Access Road, or Muskoday Road.
-No Operator shall cause a Snowmobile or ATV to make a U-turn at any intersection between two roads or streets.
-No Operator shall operate a Snowmobile or ATV without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration of other persons or property upon Muskoday Lands.
-No Operator, while operating a Snowmobile or ATV, shall permit more than one passenger to ride.
No Operator shall operate an ATV unless that person:
a) holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence;
b) is twelve (12) years of age or older but less than sixteen (16) years of age and is:
i. accompanied on the ATV by another person who holds a valid class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence; or
ii. accompanied and supervised by another person who holds a class 1, 2, 3, 4
No person shall operate an ATV on any travelled portion of a Highway. (Highway as defined in the Sask TSA)
*“highway” means a road, parkway, driveway, square or place designed and intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles, but does not include any area, whether privately or publicly owned, that is primarily intended to be used for the parking of vehicles and the necessary passageways on that area;🛣️
