This morning, we GOT PHYSICAL 👉 Seniors Week-style!
Our Aqua Size activity was proudly supported by the Abbey Centre & was the perfect blend of movement, laughter, and a lovely end-of-workout hot tub.

We rocking‑horsed, Superman‑ed/sun‑tanned, and tuck‑jumped our way through the morning (if you know… you know 😉). The water, welcome and energy were warm, it
is such a fantastic way to move your body, protect your joints, and get to know others in a fun environment.

Last night marked our 5th Seniors Week activity, and what an adventure it was!
Our group enjoyed an incredible behind‑the‑scenes tour of the local Fire Station and Police Department, and it was nothing short of AMAZING.
Blackfalds Fire Department & Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta

The teams welcomed us with warmth and patience, answering every question and giving us a true insider's look. We climbed INTO the fire truck, sat IN THE BACK of the police cars, TRIED ON the (unbelievably heavy!) fire gear, and even GOT LOCKED UP in the holding cells!!!! It was so fun.

The care, professionalism, and kindness shown by our first responders reaffirmed what we already know: we are surrounded by incredible community professionals.

A huge thank‑you to everyone who made this visit unforgettable.

The 50+ More Than a Movie crew met this afternoon, and today’s film had us laughing from start to finish.
Today’s pick: RV (2006) — a classic chaotic‑family‑road‑trip comedy that had everyone laughing OUT LOUD! Mishap humour and a heartwarming family message, and plenty of scenes that had us in stitches.

What makes this group special isn’t just the movie — it’s the connection!
⭐ We don’t always agree on the films, but we always enjoy each other’s company.

⭐Our third Seniors Week celebration was a delight.
Yesterday afternoon's event brought us together for Library Tea & Cards, and when we say cards… we mean C♦A♣️R♥️D♠️S!!!!! The canasta games were lively, and the conversations were a 10/10.
We are so fortunate to have such an amazing in our community. The Blackfalds Public Library is always buzzing with programs for all ages. It truly is a GEM in our community!

Our second Seniors Week activity was TIP-riffic!
This morning, we welcomed Erin, a physiotherapist from the "Blackfalds Physiotherapy Clinic", who generously donated her time to share practical tips on knee health, balance, and safe walking habits.

Her kindness, professionalism, and ability to make everyone feel comfortable created a welcoming learning environment as we celebrate healthy aging during Seniors Week.

Today was the big day 👉our 50+ Walk & Talk Paper Challenge finale, and wow… did we ever laugh.
Participants were introduced to a quirky wellness activity called the Paper Challenge, where everyone took home a clean sheet of paper to “care for” over two weeks, much like the classic high‑school egg challenge, but with fewer omelets.
The goal? Keep the paper free from creases, rips, and (the ultimate test) coffee stains 🤣.

And the results were priceless:
🤣“Almost” ...all the papers came back
🩷Many returned with sweet notes for the team
🤣Several arrived with purse‑and‑wallet battle folds and scars
⭐And two came back in plastic bags… in absolute pristine condition

This playful challenge sparked conversation, connection, and a whole lot of joy!
Leave it to this amazing group to complete the challenge with flying colours.

Today marked the first activity in our 2026 Seniors Week celebration, and what a wonderful start it was!
This afternoon's session focused on keeping our brains healthy and supporting loved ones through the changes that come with aging.

The Alzheimer's Society of Central Alberta joined us to share valuable insights, practical steps, local resources, and real‑life strategies.

🩷Gathering and learning together builds a stronger sense of belonging and a whole lot of fun!
