This community includes the former Village of Blackville, L*D of Blackville, L*D of Renous-Quarryville, L*D of North Esk, L*D of South Esk, L*D of Derby and L*D of Sunny Corner. The Rural Community of Miramichi River Valley Council is composed of a Mayor and six Councillors, who are elected to serve a four-year term. The Council holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers located at the Blackville Community Center, 12 Bartholomew Road South. Members of the public shall not be entitled to address the council during the meetings unless the clerk has been notified at least five business days prior to the council meeting, and the item has been added to the agenda of the meeting.

The New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure advises that Bridge N670 – Northwest Miramichi #2, between Sunny Corner and Metepenagiag on Route 425, will have a one-lane closure from October 19–23, 2026, for bridge inspection work.

One lane will remain open, with flaggers directing traffic. Motorists should expect delays and proceed with caution.

Please be advised that the ATV trail running through Blackville Municipal Park will be closed on Saturday, October 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to accommodate the Boo in the Park event.

The temporary closure will help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all the little ghosts, goblins, and trick-or-treaters attending the festivities.

🎃👻 HOLY PUMPKINS, FOLKS! WE’RE FULL! 👻🎃

Well, goodness gracious! You folks have certainly shown your excitement for Boo in the Park! 🧡

We’ve officially reached our maximum number of registered little ghosts and goblins for our Trunk or Treat!

🍬 Registration for Trunk or Treat is now CLOSED! 🍬

We wish we could welcome every little trick-or-treater, but to make sure there’s plenty of treats for all our registered kiddos, we have to put the brakes on registration!

A great big THANK YOU to all the families who signed up! We can’t wait to see those costumes, smiling faces and excited little trick-or-treaters on October 24th!

🎃 It’s going to be a SPOOKTACULAR evening in Blackville!
