Happy Retirement!

Happy Retirement!!

After 31 years of service, we say farewell to Staff Sergeant Gabe Tetrault.

Staff Sergeant Tetrault started his policing career with the Windsor Police Service in 1990 as a cadet. While with Windsor Police he became a Constable and spent time with their marine unit.
In 1998, Staff Sergeant Tetrault was hired by the Chatham-Kent Police Service and worked in Community Patrol, Criminal Investigations Division, and Investigative Support. Staff Sergeant Tetreault implemented and lead the Chaplains Unit and Peer Support Team.

Besides the numerous professional accomplishments and contributions to this service, Staff Sergeant Tetrault is known for his welcoming, kind, and caring demeanor. He was known for taking time for officers needing his advice or support.

We wish you all the best in your next chapter. You will be missed.

Congratulations on your retirement!

As I sit down to write the announcement of my retirement, I am flooded with emotional memories of the children who made an impact on me thru my career at the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village.

These kids (the true heroes) have given us; the educators a true education in kindness, value & a need to change the way we teach to be all inclusive to everyone, for them I am truly grateful.

I thought we were the ones providing education but you are the ones who educated all of us & drove us to do better by you.

My years here have so many heartwarming stories of bringing families together & our communities & especially the love of families who have lost children who want to make a difference so no one else experiences what they lost was absolutely the most incredible experience to see that kind of love shared in our communities.

I will continue to support the work that the Board of Directors & new replacements strive to do to take the C-K Children’s Safety Village to even higher levels of protecting the children of Chatham-Kent saving lives each year.

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers, family, friends, partners, businesses & organizations who believe in the value of children in our communities who have worked, donated & supported tirelessly over the years. I ask that you continue to support this very necessary & worthy cause.

I wish I could name you all because you all became part of our family.

To my amazing children who experienced the sacrifice of a career Mom & then participated to bring new summer camps, cleaning, administration & all things needed to help the community - I am so proud of the work that you did & do & the love & passion you shared along side me over the years & continue into your daily lives.

I will be forever grateful for my experience here & although we saw some peaks, mountains & valleys over the years,
I am happy to say that I now will be able to experience my next adventure witnessing these in person during my retirement travelling.

Stay safe everyone & thank you❤️
