Rural Community of Upper Miramichi Rural Community of Upper Miramichi consists of 16 communities. Situated along the Miramichi River a Nestled along the world famous Miramichi River.

Come visit the Central NB Woodmen's Museum with it's rich foresty history. Visit the Priceville Footbridge or perhaps the Fall Brook Falls.

METAL items will be picked-up twice a year Spring and Fall
Examples are: fridge, freezer, hot water tank, washer, dryer, bbq, treadmill, air conditioner, bed rails, stove, oven, etc…

Every Garbage Day you are allowed:
6-7 bags of garbage
One large item
Examples are: couch, chair, rug, mattress, box spring, tv, microwave, dresser, etc…
Windows are accepted if you have a large window or patio door glass should be removed and packaged separately. Examples boxed or in a pail.
We don’t accept: Sand, gravel, rocks, bricks, manure, dead animals, car or snowmobile parts, propane tanks, trees, lumber, oil, construction materials, hazardous waste, human waste, tires or items heavier then 50lbs. All items should be bagged, boxed or tied!!

Happy New Brunswick Day, August 3rd, 2026!

New Brunswick Day is celebrated to honor the province's history, culture, and people, highlighting local achievements and community spirit.
Key Themes of the Celebration Provincial Heritage:
Honoring the roots of Indigenous, Acadian, Scottish, Irish, and other immigrant communities that shaped the region.
Local Communities: Bringing neighbors together through local festivals, concerts, barbecues, and family-friendly park activities.
Official Host Events: Featuring a designated host municipality each year (such as Grand Falls for 2026) with live music, local foods, and community showcases.

The Village of Doaktown are celebrating New Brunswick Day with many activities. Visit their Face Book page for more information.
