This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch.

This alert is in effect for wide area around Cold Lake (see attached map).

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. Thunderstorms developing this evening have the potential to produce tornadoes.

Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible. Tornado watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using .

In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area: go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet.
Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can.
As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

Good Afternoon Kehewin: We are expecting excessive rain fall again in the next few days.

Many of our units that flooded with the May 31 rainfall are at risk of reflooding once again.

❗️Important Notice❗️

To those occupying units that were affected by the Overland flooding.

There will be two different companies on the Nation assessing the units affected by flooding.

1. Winmar Property Restoration Specialists.

2. Insurance Adjusters

Both companies will be out to start the process of assessing the units affected.

Winmar will be starting this afternoon and will be continuing Saturday, Sunday and next week.

Insurance Adjusters will be starting Monday June 15.

If you are needing to set up a time and date for when you’ll be present.

The insurance adjuster will be coming out Tomorrow and next week to assess and gather information on flooded units.

Please ensure that someone is home and your dogs are tied up so that he can assess your unit accordingly.

Good Afternoon!

Kehewin housing is reaching out to community members that are able to clean up and remove all water damaged products from the unit they occupy in.

You are asked to make a pile of all furniture, clothing, appliances anything that may have been damaged. Placed outside the residence.

We will be having workers going around the community to all the affected units with a truck and trailer to load up all items damaged by the flood.

This will help our teams move more efficiently and being able to assist the elderly and individuals that require assistance.
