👏 Grant Recognition 👏

A big thank you to Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation for supporting the Village of Borden through the Facilitator Operator Support Program Grant.

Thanks to this funding, Jory Wynd was able to complete Landscape Pesticide Applicator Training through Sask Polytech. Jory successfully completed the course last week and is now a licensed applicator, helping strengthen our in-house w**d control capabilities and reducing the need for contracted services.

Congratulations, Jory, on your achievement, and thank you to Rivers West for investing in training opportunities that benefit our community! 🌱🚜

As part of the Treaty 6 – 150 Commemorative Canoe Voyage, paddlers are currently making their way along the North Saskatchewan River on a journey recognizing the 150th anniversary of Treaty 6 and the shared history, relationships, and stories connected to this land and waterway.

Over the coming days, the voyage will pass right by the Village of Borden and make a stop at the Borden Bridge Campground. We would like to acknowledge the significance of this journey and wish all participants safe travels as they continue downstream.

This commemorative voyage is a powerful reminder of the importance of connection, reflection, and reconciliation, while also highlighting the historic role the river continues to play in bringing communities together.

Pothole Patrol Update

It might be easier to point out where there aren’t any potholes…

Just wanted to update the residents of our beautiful community that the potholes you are trying to dodge around town are a top priority.

Due to a series of unlucky events… grader blades (for our little unit) not coming in & the tractor coming down with an awful illness, it coughed so hard it hurt its radiator (trying to find some humor) some of the parts came in to remedy the illness, BUT…one more part still needs to come.

In the mean time, the big Grader will be in town next week. The RM administrator will confirm the day and let me know! (When that is confirmed, I’ll make another post asking everyone to not park on the gravel streets)
Then we can get these roads looking & feeling like the beautiful gateways they are to our cozy village!

When the tractor feels better we’ll fill the ones in the asphalt!

Thank you to everyone for your patience during this “bump” in the road!

Have a happy weekend!
