Attention BPS Children’s Place Families,

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control with experiencing severe water damage to our daycare roof as a result of the last storm and the unsafe conditions this has caused due to saturated roof tiles, and the school board now needing to assess the damage, the daycare will be CLOSED Friday August 21 for the safety of the staff and children. We will update on all families via Lillio on Sunday evening if this closure will be extended. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges.

Unfortunately for the second time this summer, our preschool/toddler playground at M.M.O. school has been vandalized over the weekend and therefore the toddler and preschool toys and equipment, as well as our storage shed have been vandalized/broken.
It is disheartening that individuals continue to “climb the fence” since both gates are locked at the end of each day and persist to vandalize equipment/toys that these young children look forward to utilizing daily.

Hopefully this doesn’t continue as the Children look forward to utilizing their outdoor play space.

The new Fairvern Early Learning and Child Care Centre is designed to bring children, residents, and families together in one welcoming campus.

With licensed care for up to 64 children, including 10 infant spaces, and extended hours and days of care, the centre helps make child care more accessible to families, helping meet a growing need in our community.

Purposefully designed spaces include:
🌳 A bright indoor play area with a feature tree and a movable glass wall that opens directly to the outdoor play space
👩‍🍳 A kitchen that encourages learning through everyday experiences
🛝 An outdoor play yard visible from the long-term care home, creating opportunities for shared moments between children and residents
🚶 Walking paths throughout the campus that support outdoor adventures and connection

Beyond the building itself, the centre will support meaningful intergenerational programming, creating opportunities for children and Fairvern residents to learn, share, and build relationships together.
