Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope inspired generations of Canadians with a powerful goal: a world without cancer. 🎗️

This September, residents can carry Terry’s legacy forward by taking part in the Brampton-Central event as part of the 46th annual Terry Fox Run. 🏃

🕗 Registration opens at 8 a.m.
🚩 Flag raising at 9:30 a.m.
👟 Run begins at 10 a.m.
🍔 Participant BBQ opens in Gage Park at 11 a.m.

Run, walk, cycle, rollerblade or use a wheelchair along the 10 km route, with a turnaround point at 5 km. The event is non-competitive and open to participants of all ages and abilities.

Brampton City Council has appointed Gael Miles as Regional Councillor for Wards 7 and 8 following a declared vacancy on Council.

The appointment provides fair representation for residents in Wards 7 and 8 and full representation for the City at the Region of Peel. Gael Miles will serve for the remainder of the current Council term, ending November 14, 2026.

Service and Information Update ️️ℹ️

Labour Day is Monday, September 7. Most City of Brampton offices, including City Hall, will be closed for the holiday.

🚒 Essential and critical services continue as usual.
🌲 Parks and most recreational trails are open year-round.
⚽ Select recreation centres will be open with modified holiday hours during the long weekend. There will be no registered programs on Monday, September 7.
📖 All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7.
🐾 Brampton Animal Services will be closed on Monday, September 7. Animal Services officers will continue patrol and emergency response.
🚍 Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, September 7.

🚫 Under the fireworks by-law, fireworks are not permitted in , including during the Labour Day weekend.

This summer was about learning, growth and making a difference in the community for the City of Brampton’s youth staff. 💙

With every new skill, hands-on experience and connection made, our youth staff built valuable experience while supporting the programs and services residents rely on every day.
