It’s World Environment Week! 🌍

Did you know invasive species can impact local ecosystems and waterways? 🌱

Some invasive plants spread rapidly, crowding out native species and reducing biodiversity. In waterways, they can clog channels, disrupt habitats, and affect how water flows through the environment.

By learning to recognize and report invasive species, you can help protect local natural spaces and wildlife.

Let’s SHELLebrate !

Local wetlands are home to four turtle species, including snapping turtles. Protecting these habitats helps turtles thrive.

This tiny snapping turtle was part of a nest safely relocated during construction, then returned once the area was restored — a small step that helps protect local wildlife. 💚

Have you spotted turtles in your area? Share your favourite viewing spot in the comments! 📸
