Trek for Tourette has been bringing communities together to raise awareness, build understanding, and support Canadians living with Tourette Syndrome. 💚

We’re excited to celebrate our milestone anniversary with the Kelowna community on Sunday, May 31, at the Kelowna BMX Club from 1–3 PM.

This family-friendly afternoon will include activities, community connection, balloon animals, and special activations from local partners, all in support of Tourette awareness and inclusion.

Tourette Syndrome affects more than 1 in 100 Canadians, and events like Trek for Tourette help spark conversations, reduce stigma, and remind individuals and families that they are not alone.
A huge thank you to the Kelowna BMX Club and all the generous sponsors and community supporters helping make this event possible.

Living with Tourette Syndrome (TS) as an adult can bring unique challenges in the workplace, from managing tics during meetings to navigating misunderstandings, anxiety, or stigma on the job. But adults with TS are also leaders, creatives, professionals, entrepreneurs, advocates, and changemakers making meaningful contributions every day.

Creating inclusive workplaces starts with understanding, empathy, and open conversations. Small accommodations and supportive environments can make a big difference in helping individuals with TS feel seen, respected, and empowered to succeed.

Join us for a meaningful 5 km trek to help raise critical funds, increase awareness, and build a more informed, inclusive, and supportive Canada for the TS community. Every step makes a difference. https://tourette.ca/fundraise/trek-for-tourette/

Today marks the beginning of Tourette Awareness Month. At Tourette Canada, we know awareness is only the beginning. Community and support matter too.

Living with Tourette Syndrome can sometimes feel isolating, whether you’re a parent trying to help your child navigate the world, a teen figuring things out, or an adult balancing daily life while feeling misunderstood.

There are Weekly National Online Peer Support Meetings for:
• Moms
• Adults
• Youth ages 13–18

These spaces are built for connection, understanding, and honest conversation with people who truly get it.

This month, let’s continue building awareness, compassion, and community together.

Volunteers Needed for Research Survey

✓ Are you the parent or guardian of a child who is 11-17 years old?
✓ Does your child have tics?
✓ Do you think they would be interested in being part of a research study?

What are we looking at?
We would like to understand the experience of the Tic Signal (or ‘the feeling before a tic’) for young people with Tourette syndrome or a chronic tic disorder.

We particularly still need to recruit more young people who have tics but not autism.

What will it involve?
You will be asked to complete questionnaires online. This will take 10 minutes.
Your child will also be asked to complete questionnaires online. This will take about 10 minutes. You can help them with this.
