Holstein, Ontario is in the Township of Southgate, located at the southern edge of Grey County. One concession east of Highway 6, north of Mount Forest.

Whether you are building, renovating, fixing or landscaping the most eco friendly materials are used ones. Used materials do not use new resources, nor new energy, nor human life forces. Used material is harder to work with, but the financial savings are worth it. Mother earth will thank you for reusing the material instead of it ending up in the landfill.
A new path in the garden. Used pavers. A bit heavy duty for the project but will work well. Big square blocks 56 pounds; small rectangular blocks 12 pounds.

We have a new addition at the old schoolhouse!
A new peach tree. We have had one for many years but because of a bad choice where we planted it, it has suffered winter kill over and over again. This year there are only a couple of branches with leaves and about 3 peaches on them.

On July 1st Holstein celebrates Canada's birthday. There is a car show, entertainment and fireworks. This usually draws a couple thousand spectators.

This year the weather looks good. The car show starts at 10 am.

We are going to have a garage sale that day at the Old Schoolhouse. If you want to set up on our sidewalk please do so. The more people selling stuff the better it will be.

On Saturday June 6, 2026 we are having the Holstein Community Garage Sale. If you ever wanted to own the Stanley Cup this will be your chance. I am offering a 2/3 size metal replica Stanley Cup. It is very heavy and detailed. I bought this for a photo shoot. Retail at the time was over $1000.00, I paid $600.00. On Saturday you can take it home for $300.00.

On February 2, 2014 Wiarton Willie predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Well he was correct but understated. Here is a photo taken on March 31, 2014 almost 8 weeks after Willie's prediction. As you can see there is still feet of snow on the ground.

What is happening with passwords? More than one site has said your password has expired.
You then have to create a new password. They say this is for security. Bull S**t. It means that their system is not secure. They are passing security onto the user instead of fixing possible breaches on their end.
Just got off the phone to Wellington North Power and their answer was - change your password or you will have no access to your account. With the power company I do not have any alternatives so I, made an new password.
I currently have about 50 passwords in use, all strong and unique and managed. Changing them will be a lot of work and can lead to errors and security risks.
With many of the people I deal with I do have a choice and if their system defaults to this, I will delete them.
