Last week, a group of paramedics were recognized for saving a life. 👏👏👏

We don’t always learn what happens after we hand patients over at the hospital, so moments like this mean a lot. Knowing someone we helped is alive and doing well is incredibly special.

Peel Region Paramedic Service is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a Toronto Police Service officer in the line of duty.
This tragic loss is a sobering reminder of the risks that police officers face every day in service to their communities. To put on the uniform is to accept a responsibility that often comes with great personal sacrifice, and today we pause to honour that commitment.
Our thoughts are with the officer’s family, friends, colleagues, and all members of the Toronto Police Service who are grieving this profound loss. We also extend our support to the broader community affected by this tragedy.
In moments like this, we are reminded of the courage, dedication, and unwavering sense of duty shown by those who serve. We stand together in respect and gratitude, and we will not forget the sacrifice made in the line of duty. It is especially important to remember that no one has to carry this weight alone. For 20 years, Peel Regional Paramedic Services Tactical Paramedic Team has stood ready to respond in some of the most dynamic and high-risk environments in our region.  

What began in 2006 with just 12 members has grown into an integrated and essential part of Peel Regional Police operations, supporting high-profile events across Peel Region, the Greater Toronto Area, and Pearson International Airport.  

Over the past two decades, Tactical Paramedics have demonstrated unwavering professionalism, adaptability, and commitment while delivering advanced medical care in complex operational environments. From past members who helped build the foundation of the team to those continuing to advance specialized response today, their legacy remains .  

Behind every deployment are countless hours of training, trusted partnerships, and the dedication of members committed to the safety and resilience of our community.  

As we celebrate the Tactical Paramedic Team’s 20th anniversary during Paramedic Services Week, we thank every past and present member for the legacy they have built and continue to carry forward.

As the sun rose yesterday morning, members of Peel Regional Paramedic Services gathered for our annual Sunrise Ceremony.

This year’s Paramedic Services Week theme, , reminds us that the story of paramedicine is still being written every day — through the calls we answer, the lives we touch, the lessons carried forward, and the people who came before us.

Together, we reflected on our history, honoured the memory of those we have lost, and recognized the strength of the paramedic community that continues to carry this profession forward.

This Paramedic Services Week, we are proud to recognize not only the work we do today but also the legacy that has built our profession.
Paramedic Paul Carson, a long-serving member of our community, has dedicated his career to preserving the history and honouring the sacrifices of paramedics across Canada. Through his work with the Fallen Canadian Paramedic Memorial Bell and national remembrance efforts, Paul has helped ensure that those who gave their lives in the line of duty are never forgotten.
This week, Paul brings that commitment to life by helping to set up a powerful display of historical memories, artifacts, stories, and symbols that reflect the evolution of paramedicine and the people behind the uniform.
Each piece tells a story. Each story reminds us why we serve.
As we celebrate Paramedic Services Week, we honour those who came before us, support those who serve today, and inspire the next generation of paramedics.

Happy Paramedic Services Week 🎉🚑

This week, we’re celebrating the people behind Peel Regional Paramedic Services — paramedics, logistics technicians, community program staff, educators, leadership teams, administrative professionals, and the many support staff who help keep our service moving every day.

As we recognize this year’s theme, , we’re reflecting on how far the profession — and our service — has come.

In the early 2000s, Peel Regional Paramedic Services had approximately 140 staff members. Today, our service has grown to more than 1,000 dedicated team members serving one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities.

And the story continues with our newest hires officially completing orientation and beginning their journey on the road.

Welcome to the team — we’re excited for the future ahead. 💙
