Behind every successful festival is a team of dedicated individuals who work year-round to bring it to life.

The Peel’s Children’s Water Festival team, recipients of this year’s Public Works Commissioner’s Value in Action Award, exemplify this dedication.
In 2025, they worked together with students, teachers, volunteers, and local community partners to host the annual Children’s Water Festival, helping raise awareness about water conservation, water efficiency, and how to care for the environment.

Through their efforts, more than 6,000 students and festival participants engaged in meaningful learning experiences, helping future generations learn about the importance of protecting our natural resources, supporting a stronger Community for Life.

Their impact extends beyond the festival itself, inspiring student volunteers to consider a future career in environmental stewardship and public service.

Their work is a testament to the meaningful difference the team is making across Peel.

We recently celebrated Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day in a big way! We flew the appreciation flag and lit up Peel Region office buildings in blue. The Town of Caledon of Caledon joined us in raising the appreciation flag, and the cities of Mississauga and Brampton lit their clock towers.
