In this video, Kellen is breaking down an important detail about bunker gear wash cycle length under NFPA 1850. While the standard outlines a 35 to 39 minute wash cycle, that timing does not include the fill and drain time required at the beginning and end of each wash phase. When those steps are included, an effective wash cycle can take upwards of an hour, depending on whether you are cleaning outer shells or inner liners.

This may seem like a small detail, but it plays a major role in removing contaminants and maintaining the integrity and performance of your gear. And it is just one part of the full wash procedure.
