Thank you all for showing up to our Annual Father's Day Fishing Derby this past Sunday, and hope you enjoyed a fantastic morning; not many fish turnout this year but we can blame the high tide and fast currents! And to those who couldn't make it, we have events and cool things brewing: More opportunities to connect and heal through prosocial activities on the horizon!
This event wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of our collaborators and sponsors:
To the National Indigenous People's Day committee for inviting us and graciously letting us be part of their event.
To Brandon's Food Rescue Grocery Store for their generous contribution of hotdogs and buns, without them we'd have to face the real world's economy which is not fun!
To the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation for giving us a generous grant for all the food and drink we gave out.
To Haylee our volunteer photographer extraordinaire for documenting all throughout our event,
To Justin and the Good Hearted Warriors for aiding us with a ton of rods, a brand new BQQ ready to use, and much-needed help in mentoring participants with fishing,
To our precious volunteers working diligently behind the BBQ and stands,
Last but not least, to our sponsors for giving us the prize donations that made this all the more enticing: Our good friends at Career Connections Katrina and Chantel from MentorAbility, Forbidden Flavours on 18th for their generous freshly-made coffee donation, Domino's Pizza, Reptile Gardens, Home Depot, Fun & Games, Shanks Driving Range and Grill, Wheat City Golf, Jo-Brook Outdoors, Sobeys Brandon South, and Multi-Cook,
I'd like to say a warm thank you for your support. We look forward to many more events that foster fatherhood, strengthen families and uplift our community, hopefully, alongside you.
