United Way West Central Manitoba will not be offering Coats for Kids in Brandon in 2026 as we focus our available resources on reviewing and strengthening our youth programming. We know families have valued this support, and this was a difficult decision.

Coats for Kids has a long and meaningful history in our community. We are deeply grateful to the donors, volunteers, businesses and community partners whose generosity has helped keep children warm over the years.

Our community and economy are changing, and we are working to build capacity, grow and manage these changes. This work is happening alongside a broader review and redesign of our youth programming, with a focus on how we can continue to support children and young people in meaningful and practical ways. This review includes exploring a sustainable approach to Coats for Kids and Tools for School.

Looking to donate a winter coat?
For those wishing to donate gently used winter coats in Brandon, we suggest considering MCC Thrift Shop or Super Thrift.
Thank you for your generosity and continued commitment to children, youth and families in our community.

Who will help your team bring Candy Cane Lane to life? 🎄

Bring together your workplace, organization, family, or group of friends for a holiday project with meaningful community impact.

United Way supplies each team with a six-foot pre-lit tree and extension cord. Your team brings the decorations, gifts, creativity, and holiday spirit, then transforms the tree together during the event.

Teams also purchase and bring gifts for a local family who could use some extra support this season.

Registration is $150 and closes October 30.
