If approved, the changes would represent an estimated increase of about $5 per month for a typical household.

📅 City Council will review the proposal on June 15. If it moves forward, it will also go through the Manitoba Public Utilities Board process, which includes opportunities for public input.

Join us Monday, June 22 at 10 a.m. for the Grand Opening of Brandon’s River Corridor Protected Areas!

The Assiniboine River Corridor is one of Brandon’s greatest natural treasures. It’s a place for people to walk, paddle, gather and explore nature right in the heart of the city.

Five City-owned lands along the Assiniboine River are being added to Manitoba’s Protected and Conserved Areas Network, recognizing their importance for wildlife, clean water, biodiversity, climate resilience and for future generations. We will also be recognizing two natural areas who have received Dakota names of Oeti and Shunkawakan Onazin from the Sioux Valley Elder Group.

This designation celebrates the stewardship already taking place while helping protect these valuable natural spaces for years to come.
