Mandated in 2018, Ogwadeni:deo is the indigenous child wellbeing agency ensuring the safety of Ogweho:weh children and youth who reside in the Six Nations of the Grand River territory, in the city of Brantford and Brant County. Since 2018, Ogwadeni:deo has been providing culturally based child protection support to members of the Six Nations of the Grand River, whom are residing on reserve, in the

city of Brantford and within the County of Brant. Ogwadeni:deo was developed with the support and input from the Six Nations community with the goal of providing our families with child protective services that is family-strength based, that keeps our children connected to the community and provides services aligning with our traditional Haudenosaunee values.

A huge thank you to Six Nations Police for their generous donation to help support children and youth in our community as they head back to school. ❀️

Their donation included pencils, pens, laundry detergent and laundry pods, all going toward supporting children, youth and families for the new school year.

Every donation has helped us put together more support for local children, youth and families, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed!

This role supports children, youth, and families through case management, ongoing services, child protection response, family support, alternative care, and permanency planning.

Ogwadeni:deo is currently accepting donations for our upcoming community backpack giveaway at the end of the month. We are looking for new, unopened school supplies or financial contributions to ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed.

How You Can Help:
