Brantford Police were proud to join our city partners at Wheels on the Pavement 2026 in Mohawk Park. It was a fantastic day connecting with community members and showcasing some of the vehicles that help keep Brantford safe.

Our display included: • Our new marked police cruiser • A Special Constable cruiser • An older style patrol vehicle • And the always popular Crown Vic

Visitors also had the chance to try a game of co****le while wearing Fatal Vision impairment simulation goggles. This hands on activity showed just how much impairment can affect fine motor skills, reaction time, and vision — a powerful reminder of the dangers of impaired driving.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and spent time with our team. We appreciate every opportunity to connect with the community we serve. 💙🚔

FRAUD ALERT – COURIER / BANKING SCAM

Police are warning the public about an ongoing courier scam involving suspects posing as representatives from financial institutions or bank fraud departments.

Victims receive a phone call from someone claiming their debit or credit card has been compromised or linked to fraudulent activity. The caller may request the victim’s PIN number over the phone and instruct them to place their bank cards into an envelope.

The victim is then told that a courier will attend their residence to collect the cards for “investigation” or “replacement” purposes. In many cases, the courier is an Uber driver or other ride-share driver arranged by the suspect. The scammer often remains on the phone with the victim until the cards have been collected.

Once the suspects obtain the cards and PIN numbers, they use them to make fraudulent in-store purchases and withdrawals.

Protect Yourself
• Banks and financial institutions will NEVER send a courier to your home to collect bank cards
• NEVER provide your PIN number over the phone
• Hang up immediately if you receive a suspicious or unsolicited call
• Contact your bank directly using the phone number on the back of your bank card to verify any concerns
• Never hand over your debit or credit cards to anyone

If you believe you have been targeted or victimized by this scam, contact your financial institution and contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050.

Please share this post to help raise awareness and protect others from fraud.
