This weekend, we recognize and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day — honouring the rich cultures, histories and contributions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples across Turtle Island.

At Willowbridge, we are committed to learning, listening and walking the path of reconciliation — together.

Wishing a meaningful day to all who are celebrating.

Last year, Willowbridge's Encompass Service Coordination program supported 430 people — including adults, children and transitional aged youth — in navigating the services and supports they needed to thrive. 💙

Encompass helps individuals and families who are living with a developmental disability access the right community supports, funding and resources. It can feel overwhelming to know where to start — and that's exactly what Encompass is there for.

Whether you're a parent looking for support for your child, an adult navigating new services, or a young person transitioning into adulthood, Encompass can help you find your footing.

Yesterday, our team had the pleasure of attending an incredible presentation by Andrew Gurza, an award-winning Canadian disability awareness consultant, speaker, podcaster and author. Andrew is a dynamic and charming individual that travels to conferences across Canada and the US to deliver keynote presentations about disability, sexuality, identity and inclusion.

Filled with humour, storytelling and honesty about his lived experience, Andrew's presentation provided our team with more perspective and made us feel empowered to continue showing up in meaningful ways for the people we serve. It's a reminder why programs and resources, like the Building Safe Relationships initiative we're developing, are so important.

Funded by the Ontario Action Plan to End Gener-Based Violence, Building Safe Relationships is a gender-based violence cirriculum co-designed with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities — because everyone deserves to feel seen, safe and informed.

Thank you to Andrew for a thought-provoking and inspirational presentation, and to Community Living Haldimand, Community Living Access, Haldimand-Norfolk REACH, Community Living Six Nations "Ronatahskats", Community Living Brant and Brantwood Community Services for providing this wonderful opportunity.

Our hearts are so full! 🥰

On May 30, we had the pleasure of hosting our very first Willowbridge Spring Social — a day of fun and connection for our clients, participants, staff, and their family and friends.

Proposed by our participants and brought to life by our dedicated staff committee, this event is (and will continue to be) a special day to celebrate the incredible people who make up our community. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

From the bouncy castle to live music, a magic show and the tastiest sundae bar, our attendees experienced it all. We also couldn't have asked for better weather! ☀️

None of it would have been possible without the generous support of some incredible individuals and businesses. 🫶 Thank you for helping us make this day so special!

If you'd like to join us next year, subscribe to our newsletter to be among the first to know when registration opens: https://ow.ly/2kq750Z9rFX.

Thank you to everyone who came out. We can't wait to do it all again! ♥️

Our Routes Respite team is always planning exciting experiences for our participants.

More recently, the group took a little trip over to Little Brown Cow for a fun day on the farm!

Check out all those smiling faces! 🥰

This week is National AccessAbility Awareness Week — a reminder that accessible communities are stronger communities. 💙

Accessibility means more than ramps and elevators. It means removing barriers so that every person — regardless of ability — can fully participate in their community.

At Willowbridge, we're committed to building services and spaced that meet people where they are. Because everyone deserves access to support.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈

At Willowbridge, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, supported and celebrated — exactly as they are.

This June, we honour the resilience, joy and strength of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Pride is more than a month — it's a reminder that belonging matters, and that inclusive spaces save lives.

We are proud to be a space where all people are welcomed and supported. 💙

P.S. We're thrilled to join Brantford Pride's Pride in the Park event on June 20. Be sure to stop by our booth if you'll be attending!
