A thank you to Carrie Siencowska for her endorsement and for more than a decade of working together in our community.

“Over the years, in her council and community work, Mandy has demonstrated time and time again, that not only does she love Brantford, but she has the skills to put that love into action.”

As a community developer who has worked in Brantford for over twenty years, Carrie understands how much relationships matter. We’ve worked together to bring people together, address food insecurity and help neighbours connect with resources and support.

That work starts with listening and recognizing what people bring to the table. When residents, organizations and community partners share their knowledge and strengths, we can accomplish so much together.

Thank you, Carrie, for your commitment to our community and your confidence in me. I’m grateful for the work we’ve shared and the opportunity to bring that same collaborative approach to serving Brantford as mayor.

A thank you to Lizzie Gozze-Steinberg for sharing her support and the experiences that brought us together.

“One thing I have come to appreciate about Mandy is her commitment to the people and neighbourhoods that make Brantford home. From advocating for safer school crossings to supporting families facing difficult circumstances, I have seen her listen, get involved, and continue working toward solutions.”

Lizzie and I met through the Eagle Place Community Association in 2021. She was looking for a way to volunteer that would allow her to bring her son along. I’m so glad she reached out. Her family became part of the neighbours working together to make our community stronger.

Since then, we’ve worked alongside others to support families, distribute food and advocate for safer school crossings. Securing those crossing guards took more than two and a half years of persistence and collaboration between parents, schools and City staff.

That work matters. When a family raises a concern, they deserve to know someone is listening and willing to keep working with them toward a solution.

Thank you, Lizzie, for everything you and your family contribute to our community, and for trusting me to carry that same commitment forward as mayor.

You may know me as your Ward 5 councillor. We may have met at a community event, through a neighbourhood project or on your doorstep during this campaign.

But if we haven’t met yet, I’m Mandy.

🏡

I was born in Brantford, and my husband and I raised our family in Eagle Place. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people who care deeply about this city and are willing to roll up their sleeves to make it better.

That’s where my story in public service began.

For more than fifteen years, I volunteered with neighbours, schools, businesses and community organizations. We worked together to bring the Tutela Park Splash Pad to life, create neighbourhood programs and help people feel more connected to the place they call home.

Those experiences, alongside my career in healthcare and public health, taught me something that continues to guide me every day: listen to the people living with a challenge. They often have the clearest ideas about what would help.

When I was elected to council in 2022, I brought those lessons to City Hall.

Since then, I’ve worked with residents and community partners to improve school crossing safety, address food insecurity, help businesses recover from vandalism and support our downtown through construction.

These things matter because they affect everyday life. The walk to school. The ability to put food on the table. The small business someone has poured their savings and heart into.

I’m running for mayor because I want to bring that same care, experience and determination to serving our whole city.

I believe in leading WITH Brantford. Making room for your ideas. Being honest about the challenges. Working together and following through.

If you’re getting to know me, I invite you to visit mandyformayor.ca, ask a question or stop for a conversation when you see me out in the community.

Online voting opens Tuesday, October 13th. If this sounds like the leadership you want for Brantford, I’d be grateful for your vote. If you know someone who hasn’t met me yet, please share this introduction. These conversations help more people get to know who I am, what I stand for and the future we can create together.
