Douglas, had a great visit to the vet last week! We’re happy to report that this growing boy has gained 2.5 pounds!

Meet Dougie, who was here for his puppy wellness exam today! 🐾

You may have heard that Dougie is the new Eddie-in-training as Victim Services of Brant 's next service dog. Today, he had the chance to spend some time with our Dr. Lee-in-training, Dr. Lee’s daughter, Aubrey! 💙

We’re pretty sure these two are both destined for great things. 🐶👩‍⚕️

A huge thank you to everyone in our community who shared such wonderful name suggestions for our newest team member! We were blown away by all the fun, creative, and thoughtful ideas! Choosing just one name was no easy task.

After much deliberation, we're excited to officially introduce the newest member of the Victim Services of Brant team...DOUGLAS!

In recognition of more than 25 years of dedicated volunteer service, he has been named Douglas in honor of a volunteer whose kindness, compassion, and commitment left a lasting impact on our office and the people we serve.

Douglas's family is aware of and supportive of this tribute, and we are grateful to have their blessing as we celebrate his legacy. Naming our facility dog after Douglas is our way of honoring not only him, but all of the incredible volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and hearts to our office. Their dedication makes a meaningful difference every day, and this tribute reflects the appreciation we have for each and every one of them.

Thank you to everyone who participated! We can't wait for you to meet Douglas!

In the coming weeks, Victim Services of Brant will be welcoming our newest team member—a male Barbet puppy who will begin his journey to becoming our service dog!

Before his journey begins, he needs a name!

As Victim Services of Brant looks to the future, we’re excited to share some important changes ahead.

This fall, after more than 10 years of dedicated service, our beloved service dog, Eddie, will begin his well-earned retirement. Eddie has been a constant source of comfort, compassion, and support to countless individuals throughout the years. While we will miss having him as part of our team, we are so happy that he will be able to enjoy this next chapter filled with rest and relaxation!

As we celebrate Eddie’s incredible legacy, we’re also thrilled to announce that Victim Services of Brant will be welcoming a new service dog this summer! Our new service dog will spend time working alongside Eddie while receiving training, helping to ensure a smooth transition before Eddie officially retires this fall.

We can’t wait to introduce you to our newest team member, and look forward to sharing updates on this exciting journey!

His gentle nature, unwavering loyalty, and ability to bring a smile during challenging times, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many people in our community.
