Health Canada has issued another recall involving carbon monoxide alarms sold in Canada. Take a moment to check your smoke and CO alarms to make sure they are properly certified, within expiry, and not affected by a recall. Health Canada recalls: https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en

Carbon monoxide (CO) could accumulate unseen in your very own home leading to tragic consequences.

Install CO alarms on every storey of your home, test them every month and have all fuel-burning appliances, chimneys, and vents inspected annually by a registered contractor.

Protect what matters most!

Carbon monoxide is often called the invisible killer because you can’t see it, smell it, or taste it.

If you are without power due, take extra precautions when heating your home. Improper use of fuel-burning equipment can cause carbon monoxide to build up quickly.

Make sure carbon monoxide alarms are installed and working, and never use generators, grills, or fuel-burning devices indoors or in garages.

A simple hollow core door will keep your bedroom around 100 degrees while the hall, just outside, is 900 degrees. The extra 10 or 15 minutes that door will give you is plenty of time for the hall smoke detector to wake you up and for you to get out. Please sleep with your bedroom door closed.
