๐ŸŒŸ Access Awareness Week: May 31 โ€“ June 6 ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we celebrate the contributions, achievements, and resilience of people living with disabilities in our communities.

Access Awareness Week is also an opportunity to reflect on the work that remains to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate fully, feel valued, and experience a true sense of belonging.

Creating accessible and inclusive communities benefits us all. Together, we can continue to remove barriers, promote understanding, and support equal access for everyone.

Let's recognize the importance of accessibilityโ€”not just this week, but every day.

๐ŸคฉHAPPENING TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!

We're excited for tomorrow evening's Community Conversations.

The Beyond Band-Aids Initiative, in partnership with the Bridgewater United Church, is pleased to be hosting another community conversation for all Lunenburg County residents. We have all experienced how rapidly things are changing both in the world and right here in our communities. There is an increased need to address issues such as affordability, safe and available housing, mental health, stigma and discrimination, social isolation as well as other broader concerns.

If you have been looking for a safer space to explore these and other issues, please join us in conversation. Whether you are currently facing challenges yourself, supporting your neighbours, or simply concerned about these issues, you are welcome. Your experiences and perspectives matter. We will reflect on how we can continue to think โ€˜beyond band-aidsโ€™ and identify ways to work together to build ongoing, sustainable solutions and quality of life for all.

Date: Thursday, May 28th, 2026
Time: 5:30-6:00pm (Light meal provided); 6:00-8:00pm (Event proceedings)
Location: Bridgewater United Church, 87 Hillcrest St., Bridgewater
