Please like AA Munro Insurance page and like our photo so we have a chance to win $5000 for our department!

Italy Cross-Middlewood & District Fire Department

This photo was taken during a joint practice with Mill Village Fire Department on October 13, 2026, using one of Nova Scotia’s new Mobile Burn Units.

In the foreground, Lieutenant Brandon Burgoyne and Training Officer Wendell Eisener are discussing the next training evolution.

The photo was taken by John Eisener, Wendell’s son, who turns 11 in just over a month. In December, he will be permitted to join the department as a Junior Firefighter, one year sooner than usual. That kid already remembers where more stuff is on the trucks than his father does, and that’s me!

We have recently had to refit our 30-year-old, second-hand rescue unit with a new chassis. If we were to win the $5,000, every penny would go towards the anticipated $140,000 cost of the refit.

Yesterday we went to the home coming ceremony from the West Dalhousie community for the fire of Long Lake West Dalhousie that happened over one year ago yesterday. They said thank you to the fire service and the 77 fire departments that responded to the call to help.
