There's Art on the Story Book Trail! 🎨

Beginning on August 28th you can find art on the Story Book Trail! The new exhibit showcases nature inspired art that was created during our summer camps. The Story Book Trail Art Exhibit is located along the trail in Glen Allan Park at 199 Glen Allan Drive in Bridgewater.

The exhibit will run from August 28 to September 30.

Recreation & Culture Engagement Party

Join us for an evening of conversation, food, and fun activities! We will share what we have learned so far and you will have a chance to share your ideas on how we can best invest in recreation and culture in Bridgewater.

Food: Grazing table, fun drinks, treats.
Games: Backyard games, & kids zone to keep the littles entertained!
Presentation: Learn what we have heard so far & join in breakout groups to help shape the future of Recreation & Culture in the Town of Bridgewater!
Atmosphere: Twinkle lights, fire, end of summer evening party.

Did you know? There are rules and guidelines about posting signs on public streets in Bridgewater.

Here are some frequently asked questions we get about signs:

âž¡ Can I post a sign for my special event?

Yes, but you will need to reach out to the Town for approval for your sign. Once posted, your sign must be removed within ten days following your event.

âž¡ Can I post a residential yard sale sign?

Yes, but please remember to remove the sign within 24 hours following your sale.

âž¡ Can I put a sandwich board sign on the sidewalk in front of my business?

Yes. The sign must be placed directly in front of your business (not down the street) and only be put out when the business is open to the public. When the sign is out, there must be a minimum walkway of 5ft . Please remember to leave enough space for people who are using mobility aids and strollers. The sign can be no larger than 6 ft sq.

âž¡ Can I post on public utility poles in Bridgewater?

No, posters or signs are not allowed on public utility poles.

Remember, signs unrelated to an existing business or use are not allowed. There should never be any off-site commercial signage in Bridgewater.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Austin "Ozzie" Stiles, who served as the Town of Bridgewater's Town Crier from 1979 to 2019. For four decades, Ozzie proudly represented Bridgewater throughout Nova Scotia, in Canada, and at international events. Ozzie is believed to have been the second longest-serving Town Crier in North America.

On behalf of Council and staff, we extend our sincere condolences to Ozzie's family, friends, and all who knew him.

In honour of his service to our community, the Town of Bridgewater flag has been lowered to half-mast.

🎶 Music on the Riverbank continues this Thursday with The Wedbetters!

The Wedbetters are a 5-piece band of Junior High Students local to the South Shore. Playing 1970’s through modern era rock, classic rock, and grunge rock with shared vocals, two guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards, The Wedbetters have played several public events and are looking forward to rocking out on August 27th.

Come down to Pijinuiskaq Park at 6:30 p.m. on August 27 to listen.

The Town of Bridgewater has also partnered with some of the many great restaurants & breweries in Bridgewater to bring you a chance to win during Music on the Riverbank. This week we will be doing a draw for a gift card to Rascals Burrito Bar!
