Byron Faretis for Councillor

Byron Faretis for Councillor Municipality of Brighton - Running for Council 2022 He then sold the business and moved to Wilmot Creek, a community of 1,000 land-leased homes.

Byron spent 25 years in the food and beverage industry in various positions of increasing responsibility and served several terms as President of the Canadian Industrial Sweetener Association, advocating for it’s members' interests and concerns to all levels of Government on international trade and agricultural policy. After leaving the food and beverage industry, Byron started his own graphics bu

siness, which he operated successfully for 18 years. He was elected President of the Homeowner’s Association and was responsible for dealing with the property manager on deficiencies in services and infrastructure. He also represented the resident at local council in their opposition to a proposed expansion of Wilmot Creek that was not consistent with the existing community. Byron and his wife Elaine then sought a quieter lifestyle and moved to Brighton. Having both lost a spouse to cancer, they are keenly aware of the need for accessible local health care. One of the key reasons Byron is running is to ensure that this is a priority focus for Brighton Council. Based on the management, strategic planning, financial and interpersonal skills he has honed over the course of his career, Byron believes that he can make a significant and positive contribution for the residents of Brighton by strongly and enthusiastically representing their interests and concerns.
