Free Tulip Bulbs

The Parks dept will have approximately 11,000 tulip bulbs to give away tomorrow, June 3. Pickup is available starting at 9am at the Gravel lot on the corner of Brock street and Tunnel Avenue (north tunnel parking lot).

By then – we will have pulled all of the tulips out, and they will be given out all at once. Tulips will be bagged up with about a dozen in each bag. Please only take one bag per person, as we would like to see as many people have access to these bulbs as possible.

When they are gone – they are gone.

Work is scheduled to begin this week as part of ongoing improvements to the Brockville Railway Tunnel lighting system.

Each year, sections of the tunnel lighting are upgraded to replace equipment before it reaches the end of its lifespan. This year’s work will focus on one section of the lighting display, including fixture replacement and system upgrades to help keep the experience running smoothly for visitors.

The tunnel is expected to remain open during this work, but visitors are asked to please be mindful of crews working on site.

This capital project is part of the City’s continued investment in maintaining and enhancing one of Brockville’s key attractions.

River Route Service Update on Tuesday, June 2 at 2:12 pm

Highway 2 remains closed, however Highway 401 has reopened.

The River Route will be back in service for the afternoon route. The bus will be at the Brockville Superstore for pickup at 3:30 p.m.

Review the River Route stops and locations.

---------

River Route Temporarily Suspended

Due to unfolding traffic incidents on both Highway 2 and the 401, Brockville Transit has made the decision to temporarily pause the River Route service between Brockville and Cardinal effective immediately.

Earlier today, a tractor trailer accident closed Highway 2, our primary corridor. While attempting to detour via the 401, an additional accident has made it unsafe and impractical to maintain scheduled service.

As a result, the River Route will be suspended until Highway 2 reopens and it is safe to resume reliable service.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we prioritize passenger and operator safety. Updates will be provided as soon as service can resume.
