Last week, Leeds Grenville Community Paramedic leadership had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Community Paramedicine Knowledge Exchange Expo ( ).

It was a privilege to collaborate with community paramedicine leaders, healthcare partners, and industry stakeholders from across Ontario as we continue to innovate, build healthcare capacity, and improve access to care for the residents we serve.

We were also honoured to hear from Ontario's Minster of Health, Sylvia Jones, who recognized the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of the paramedics involved in the recent Highway 15 incident. Her words of support and well wishes for their recovery were greatly appreciated.

Minister Jones also emphasised that Community Paramedicine is no longer a pilot project, but that it is an established and essential healthcare program that is making a meaningful difference in the lives of Ontarians every day.

Thank you, Minister Jones, for helping kick off the 2026 Community Paramedicine Knowledge Exchange Expo and for your continued support of Community Paramedicine across Ontario.

Our Community Paramedic Program had the opportunity to attend the Seniors Expo hosted by Senior Support Services-LLG at New Hope Church yesterday.

We were also privileged to present and highlight the incredible work our Community Paramedic team delivers every day throughout Leeds and Grenville.

Events like these provide valuable opportunities to connect with community partners, share information about available services, and strengthen the collaborative relationships that support residents in remaining healthy, independent, and connected in their communities.

It was also wonderful to have Michael Barrett and Steve Clark in attendance, demonstrating their ongoing support for the residents and organizations that serve our communities. Their presence highlights the importance of investing in programs and partnerships that enhance the health and well-being of seniors across our region.

It is always a pleasure to come together as a community to collaborate and provide wraparound, holistic care for the residents of Leeds & Grenville. Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success!

Paramedics Sebastien and Jeremy were happy to join the fun at Prescott Ribfest (May 29–31) at Fort Wellington, especially since they love ribs!

With live entertainment, vendors, and family-friendly activities, it was a fantastic event supporting local youth programs across Leeds & Grenville.

Thanks for having us, we’re already looking forward to next year!

Paramedics Sydney and Spencer enjoyed meeting families at Southgate Church in Kemptville during a recent Community Yard Sale and Family Event!

It was a great opportunity for the community to explore the ambulance, ask questions, and connect with our team outside of emergency calls.

We’re proud to serve such a supportive community. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, contributions, and resilience of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. It’s also a moment to reflect on the importance of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging—principles that guide our work and strengthen the communities we serve.

At Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service, we are committed to providing compassionate, respectful care to everyone we serve. Pride Month is a reminder of the importance of creating safe spaces, both in our workplaces and in the care we deliver, where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

We stand with the 2SLGBTQI+ community and remain dedicated to inclusive, patient-centered care, today and every day.

Yesterday afternoon, one of our ambulances was involved in a serious collision on Highway 15 near Lombardy.

The two paramedics involved were transported to The Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus, where they were treated for their injuries and have since been released.

We are actively gathering confirmed information and are working closely with our partner agencies as they continue their investigation. As this process is ongoing, we will not be providing further details at this time.

We extend our sincere thanks to all emergency responders who attended the scene for their professionalism and care.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved and all those affected by this incident.

A big thank you to the Grenville 4H Club for welcoming Superintendent Tracy for a visit last week!

It was a great opportunity to connect with local youth, answer questions about our role, and share some basic life-saving skills.

We appreciate the chance to spend time with such an engaged group and help build a better understanding of the role paramedics play in the community.

Last week, we felt the incredible support of our community during Paramedic Services Week and we can’t thank you enough for all your kind words and encouragement!

We’d also like to give a special shoutout to two of our own who went the extra mile to make the week even more meaningful for our team:

🍪 Ashley, one of our Paramedics, who baked amazing Paramedic Services Week-themed cookies for everyone to enjoy.

🔑 Chris, one of our Superintendents, who created custom keychains for each member of our team.

These thoughtful gestures made the week truly special and reminded us of the strong sense of community within LGPS.

Thank you to everyone, both in our organization and across Leeds Grenville, who helped make Paramedic Services Week so memorable!

As we wrap up Paramedic Services Week, we’re proud to highlight the theme of Paramedic Recognition.

While this has been our focus at LGPS all week, it’s something we strive to carry forward every single day. Our team works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, and their dedication and impact on our community deserve to be recognized year-round.

This past week gave us a chance to celebrate just a small part of that appreciation. Our recognition BBQ was a great success, bringing everyone together to enjoy a meal hot off the grill, courtesy of our Chief.

Each medic received a small token of our gratitude, and we had the honour of celebrating several long service milestones.

Congratulations to those marking their years of service, and a heartfelt thank you to every member of LGPS. Your commitment, compassion, and hard work do not go unnoticed - we truly appreciate everything you do for our community.

Today's Paramedic Services Week theme is compassionate care, and it's at the heart of everything our Paramedics do.

Every day, Paramedics are invited into people’s lives during some of their most difficult and vulnerable moments. Whether responding to a medical emergency, supporting someone in crisis, or providing care at the end of life, compassion guides every interaction.

Paramedics play a vital role in palliative care, helping patients remain comfortable, supported, and dignified wherever they call home. They work alongside families and healthcare partners to manage symptoms, provide reassurance, and ensure that patients are not alone during their final journey.

Compassion also extends beyond patient care. Paramedics approach mental health calls with understanding and empathy, meeting people where they are and offering support without judgment. After challenging calls, they continue that compassion by supporting families, friends, bystanders, and one another.

These moments remind us that paramedicine is not only about responding to emergencies. It’s about connection, respect, and showing up with care when it matters most.
